Munkplast chooses suppliers and raw materials very carefully in order to avoid unnecessary processes and lengthy transportation to save energy and minimize environmental impacts. Wherever possible, PET packaging (satisfying stringent safety requirements for food packaging) is used. This not only ensures safety but also enables consumers to see the product and the efficiency of the packaging (waste is minimized – packaging is filled with product, and not “air” as is often the case for heavily marketed brands). And just as important, PET is recyclable.

Munkplast’s factory in Uppsala, Sweden has been adapted to ensure that energy used in production is recycled wherever possible minimizing energy use and the company's carbon footprint. All heating, ventilation and water heating is provided in this way without a need for external energy provision.
